Salon in the framework of LABO21

05.-07. December 2013 net.culture club MaMa, Preradovićeva 18, Zagreb hrvatski About the program The three-day program Exploded Views of Performance brings insight into current interdisciplinary-research trends in the field of contemporary dance and the broader field of theatrical performance. A large number of prominent theater makers today collaborates with scientists and technology experts in the analysis of poetic, methodological and research premises of their own artwork. These tendencies have been stimulated by the latest scientific findings in neuroscience, kinesthetics or mediology, as well as technological innovations in the field of computer analysis, design and representation of the processes of high complexity such as the sensory-mechanical processes in the body, processes of choreographic composition or theatrical performance. The aim of these interdisciplinary research activities is to bring forward the specific knowledge and practices that arise in the creative work of these artists, for the public, the young creators and scientists, in the form of exhibitions, publications and workshops. And sometimes to bring back thus acquired insights into further creative work of the artist. Exploded Views of Performance will through public talks, presentations and a workshop present research activities and artistic work of Jan Fabre (Troubleyn/Laboratorium), Chistine Gaigg, Emio Greco (ICKamsterdam), Marjana Krajač, Wayne McGregor (Random Dance), the Motion Bank project by William Forsythe and work of BADco. The symposium part of the program on Thursday (05.12.) and Saturday (07.12.) will include talks by renown performance researchers, dramaturgs and artists: Bertha Bermúdez Pascual (ICKamsterdam), Elke van Campenhout (a.pass), Scott deLahunta (Coventry University/Motion Bank/Random Dance), Christine Gaigg (2nd Nature), Joe Kelleher (Roehampton University), Marjana Krajač, Goran Sergej Pristaš (BADco.), Jonas Rutgeerts (Troubleyn/Jan Fabre), Sarah Whatley (Coventry University). On Friday (06.12.) Austrian choreographer Christine Gaigg will hold a workshop Frame by Frame that will, jointly with its participants, analyze the procedures of her most recent choreography DeSacre!
